How can you put vine plants in a screen cage. I want to make two vine plants hanging and then have a couple tree-like plants. How could I do this? Also how can I attach branches and artificial branches to the wire?
Absolutely. I personally use neodymium magnets to hold my branches up in my screen enclosures.....mainly because I have this strong resistance to poking holes through something I just paid money for, lol. I would say the majority to people attach the branches with push pins through the screen or fishing line/zip ties.
Hanging the plants....you can either buy Dragon Strand Ledges(which are awesome) or you can run a dowel across the top of the enclosure and tie a piece of monofilament to it. Run the monofilament through the screen top and attach it to the hanging apparatus of the pot. Of course you want to make sure the dowel isn't sitting on the screen itself, but rather the edges of the enclosure.
Another option is to use zip ties to anchor your hanging plants to the corners. Just run one zip tie through a small slit cut in the lip of the container. The square end will be "in the pot." The tail of the zip tie will run to the out the slit in the side of the pot. Push the tail trough the cracks in the top frame of the enclosure and then use another zip tie to anchor it. Works well and the frame instead of the mesh takes the stress of the plant.
