How do I clean jungle vines?

if i even touch mine before the dry out they start falling apart

I'm not sure if by using the end of the vine to test the boiling thing may have thrown off the times. The end of it seemed to come apart very fast. I wonder if the whole vine would have done that but I didn't really want to test the whole thing. I wonder if there's a recommendation from the manufacturer about this.
