OK, let me rephrase since someone decided to move my thread to lizard lounge. What is the best way to protect your chameleons from your pet squirrels? I think this qualifies as a legit husbandry question.

I don't have or raise squirrels, in fact they scare me a bit and I suspect that they would definitely do damage given half a chance.
I do however have cats. There is no question in my mind that a cat would turn even the biggest Parson's into a cat toy given half a chance so it is important to me that I keep them away from the Chameleon.
I can't free range and have to be very careful when I have my Chameleon out. I always keep my enclosure locked and one of my cage requirements is that it is cat proof and located in a place the cats can't get too close.
I imagine squirrels would be similar. Are the squirrels free ranged or caged?
I think it is pretty much the same for any other animals that is dangerous: Have an enclosure that can't be penetrated and be vigilant when your cham is out.
you have... squirels?
Yeah, why not? My cousin had a crocodile for a while. We used to have ferrets. At least one person on this forum has a pet millipede. Squirrels dont seem that weird once you consider all those other weird pets
The hallway to the chameleon room has an electrified floor.
The only way my squirrels could disable it is to fly a nikita missile down the hallway, into an air duct, and blowing up the electric panel.
That may still seem risky to you, but the only place they could get nikita missiles, is in the 2nd floor basement, which is the armory. They cant reach the buttons in the elevator though, and even if they did, they would need a level 3 security card to open the room in the armory that holds the nikita missiles. Theres no way they could get the level three card though, because, well Im not telling anyone where that is...
