oops is that a murcury vapour bulb if not you need a 5.0 uvb bulb also not just a basking light.hope i helped.:):)sorry if it is mvb then you need to rais it up another six- eight inches your cham will get on the screen and climb on the ceiling and eventually get burned either way its best to raise the light offf the screen

what kind of c hameleon do you have? or are you getting? Do you have a UVB light? What kind of light is in the dome? You will need to remove the substrate(the bark on the bottom, you cham could eat it and choke or die) also what is the water bowl for? If it is to catch the water, use something more shallow. If you cham falls in and he is a baby he could drown. Also, you need some more branches and vines higher up in the cage. Under the dome you will need a sturdy branch or vine and position it about 8 inches below the light. edit: sorry, I see you got your chameleon. Is that a panther? it is hard to tell from the pic.

I have found that it's hard to supply enough water to a Cham with thin/small leaves, they just don't have the surface area to hold water for them to drink enough without misting constantly.

Looks like you are off to a good start. But need to make some changes for a healthier environment. Carol has offered you some very good advice.

I absolutely agree.

Also, foliage is essential to give them both a light and temperature gradient so they can self regulate their exposure to both.

Dione, it is very important that you have the correct lighting. Without the right lighting your chameleon can become very ill or even die. What kind of light do you have in the dome? As I stated before you need two lights or a light that is a combo uvb/uva. If that is just a basking light you have there, you MUST get a uvb light.

For big leaves my 2 faves are Schefflera and Hibiscus. I also have a Pothos (also has nice, big leaves) and a Ficus in her cage. I would really recommend live plants as they help keep the humidity in the cage right. :)
