How far does one tube of silicone go? Anybody use the GE brand still?

For people who have done the Great Stuff Foam and Coconut fiber method, about how much coverage did you get out of a 10oz tube of silicone? Just a rough estimate, if I go with ASI silicone I will be payign shipping and want to only do that once, lol.

Also, what brands does everyone use? I've read heaps of old forum posts here, the Dendro board and aquarium boards. It looks like posts from early 2000s, GE 1 was used a lot. More recently people seem more hesitant, but aquarium guys are still using it I guess. Opinions on the GE brand?

Make sure you get a decent amount. The silicone layer has to be kind of thick so that the coco fiber attaches better. If I would have had more silicone I probably would have been better off. I used a silicone tube per side but my enclosure is small and the area I needed to cover was pretty small.

Doing the back wall of an 18"x18"x24" Glass Terrarium, I think it usually takes me just over two tubes to do the 18"x24" area. I use the GE Clear Silicone I and I make sure I don't get the stuff for bathrooms and showers, but the one for windows and trim.
