How long should a chameleon stay out of his cage?

My chameleon would be out 24/7 if he could. He loves gettin handled, only time I can get him in his tank is when hes cold and he still puts up a fight and tries to get out the door. Hes only about 5 months old so dont know if it will change as he gets older

A chameleon does not need to have a respiratory infection because it gapes!! Some will gape to let off heat , fear factor etc

I have a male vield and he gapes right before he has to poo , I always thought that was normal , he's 8-9 mths old and has always done it sence I had him

Lmao, he must be taking some painful dumps :p

I've caught a few of my chams 'yawning' in the morning. It's odd to see.

Haha my female panther yawns in the morning as well and late afternoon before she settles on her perch for the night

My female Nippie TaTa always open her mouth during the 1hours only freerange visting time with the male Dickie Roll,I think she is saying to him "please no more,I dont want to be gravid again"

It's perfectly acceptable to let him have time outside of his cage. It will make them more well-adjusted and overall less inclined to be aggressive. Just let them decide when is the right time (i.e. don't force him out).

Oh God YES,he is a such loving machine, especially when he start bopping his head with her,the parrots are all doing the bopping too, what a sight....
I play this song just for them:rolleyes:

Lovely Is The Feelin' Now
Fever, Temperatures Risin' Now
Power (Ah Power) Is The Force The Vow
That Makes It Happen It Asks No Questions Why (Ooh)
So Get Closer (Closer Now)
To My Body Now Just Love Me
'Til You Don't Know How (Ooh)

Keep On With The Force Don't Stop
Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough
Keep On With The Force Don't Stop
Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough
Keep On With The Force Don't Stop
Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough
Keep On With The Force Don't Stop
Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough

Well I take my male outside in the early to late afternoons, he hates going back into his cage though :ROFLMAO:. My female on the other hand, is really shy, maybe because she's small? He's very lovable, he'll let me touch his stomach, but as soon as I show advances in bringing him back into his cage he puffs up and stands his ground. I still need to buy him a tree for him in front of his enclosure when he gets out. This is a picture taken right now for his "exploration" session.

He is a very dominant alpha looking beautiful cham,I guess he is saying" I want to be free ,I dont need any contract to keep me in the cage n I love my Tmobile no contract services "

Yes he is very dominant, he just hissed at me on trying to get him back in . I guess me and him still have a lot of work to do together. I'm lucky to have such a turquoise looking chameleon for my first.

Its ok ,you can still bring him to ur apartment roof top....
If Mr.Mike tyson can play with his pigeons on the roof top,you can for sure to bring ur chamy to get some nice sun ray,why not !!

Try use a stick for him to stand on then slowly take him back to where he belong since he is a freedom lover,it might need some more patience of urs to guide him back where he belong, also check with ur cage set up....temperature,lighting etc suitable for his needs.

Yep his basking spot is 85 F, his UV linear tube is recently brought so it's fine. He has good cover, maybe he's just a freedom lover after all :ROFLMAO:.
