hi everyone, being new to chams i worry a little.the only time i actually see him drink is when im misting.i spray more on the branch or leaf while hes drinking.how long should i do this?or maybe i should ask how long should they drink?i like it he likes it.fascinating:p

Do you have a dripper? As long as he is drinking then he is fine. People say mistings should be atleast 4-5mins long. Doesn't matter really unless he is drinking some water

no i dont have a dripper yet.people wrote abot 1 gallon jugs.i dont have room on top of the cage,i have a heat lamp and uv light on top.i can fit a 16oz. bottle.is something better than nothing?

quick question about mistking setups.how are the pumps fed water?standing water or does it hook up to your plumbing?

A cup with a hole in it is good enough, as long as the chameleon has the water for at least an hour or two.

I mist for 1-2minutes because my guys are good drinkers. Some chameleons need at least 5 minutes (and different species require different times, but I'm assuming you have a veiled or panther.) just keep spraying until he stops drinking then spray the plants away from him for a little longer (unless the humidity doesn't raise enough in that time, then for a while longer, or until you think it's good enough.)

I would suggest a little dripper. I use them on all of my cages and they work really well. Also, you should be spraying for 3-5 minutes because it helps with the humidity as well.
