how long should veileds breed for?

i only allowed them to do their business and then i seperated them after about 5 mins after he pulled out...i figured she was a little disturbed and she was gasping at him so i figured they would start fighting as they normally do when i put them together. just wondering if that was long enough to fertilize?

It is reccoomended to let the female tell you and him with the signs you mentioned. Sounds like you did the right thing. The female knows best
With my panthers I have let them stay together untill I see the same signs.
