That I don't know. Another well informed member should be able to answer that for you.Ok, but what if needs help? How long do they usually take to fully hstch?
Ok thanks mateThat I don't know. Another well informed member should be able to answer that for you.
The little guy is still in there it's been about 36hrs from when he pipped.any updates ?
Ok great. Thanks for the advice. He has been moving around in there I saw his tail up the pipped end and now his nose is back there pushing on it. I think I'm just being a worried dad haha. Will keep everyone posted2 days isn't uncommon 3 days is fine too. Sometimes the first egg takes the longest. They'll stick their head out, then pull it back in, it takes a couple of days to absorb the yolk sac. A healthy neonate will make it out on its own.
I've heard of some people helping a baby out of the egg after 3or4 days and the baby turning out fine. This has never happened for me. If they don't make it out by themselves they haven't survived for me, with my help or not.
Ok thanks bob. Well how long can I leave it in the tub for. I've got a Christmas lunch now for about 4-5hrs. Will it be right? They won't eat the first day and probably not the second day. Some breeders like to leave the baby in the egg container because there may be some cue for the other eggs to start hatching. I've done it both ways: leaving them in the egg container and removing them as soon as they hatch. The only time I leave them in the egg container for sure is if they're out of the egg but still have some yolk left in the umbilical cord.
