I have two, 4 month old, male, veiled chameleons. It seem that they will just eat until i run out of crickets, so i eventually stop, how many crickets should i feed each of them each day?

Hi there! i have a male veiled as well he is 2 tho. they will just keep eating i have noticed especially if he really likes it! When they r young then can eat up to 15 crickets or more a day as they get older tho u wanna slow down u dont want him to get fat n lazy! it is hard sometimes to not feed them so much i know especially sometimes when they look at ya w those cute lil eyes! and u know they r looking for food. also r u giving him other feeder? u dont wanna just have one type of feeder he will get tired of it, try some worms, butter worms r great for calcium if u can get them and horn worms, they r great for moisture, very juicy! cabbage moths r fun too but it is a bit chilly out to get those for now.:)

when young and growing like yours, I suggest giving as much as he can eat (offering a wide variety of feeder prey, NOT just crickets) within about 5 minutes, about 3 times a day. as they approach a year old, you will reduce (he will need less). This is just a general rule of thumb.

As an adult 1-5 bugs a day, about 5 days a week.

There are lots of variables - so Keep an eye on weight and body condition (tail shape, fat pads on head).
