How many feeders do you offer?

Yeah I do, they are as easy as dubia. They eat even more than dubia though(which is good). They are meatier and more active, my Chams will eat them before dubia. They are pretty quick compared to dubia and give off a defensive odor, but if you keep them in a larger bin they don't seem to smell it all. I only experienced it when they were overcrowded and it wasn't that bad IMO. They also tend to be more aggressive with each other and thrive when given space.
Very interesting. What size is your colony and the tub you have them in? Same question for your dubia colony haha

They're both in large slick plastic tubs, not sure how large probably around 3 feet by 1 and a half feet wide. That's just a rough estimate. I cut a giant square out of the lid and hot glued aluminum screen to it. There's hundreds at least in there id imagine at this point. Enough that they can eat an entire orange in about a day.

That's amazing! Thanks for all the responses :)

Ok I have to jump in here with some questions for @jamest0o0 about your orange head roach colony.

You said they are faster than dubia's, my dubia's are pretty fast, do you worry about them getting away (out running you) if you accidentally dropped one?

If some did excape would they infest my apartment?

Do they require the same heat to reproduce as dubia?

Sorry for the hijack:notworthy:, but the questions are on topic and I thought others may be wondering the same kinds of things (y)

@Katacara they make dubias look pretty slow tbh. My male dubia are quick and the orange heads are even a good deal faster than them. If I dropped a few and they scattered there's a possibility they'd get away and hide. I've dropped one on occasion though and it's not too difficult to grab, banded crickets are a little more difficult to catch imo. My parents(in their mid 60s) who are watching my animals currently, I told to be careful of the OH roaches and banded crickets because they probably wouldn't be able to catch them If they got loose.

Orangeheads won't infest any more than dubia would, they are tropical roaches. I have a heated closet, so in my case if they escaped they might infest my closet lol, but otherwise you're fine. I keep mine the same heat as dubia and feed them the same.

Thanks a bunch for that, I guess I will add starting a colony to my "to do list". Wow I have a long list of "to do's"!!!!!!

You can have your thread back now longhorn1234 :D
