Ok so i got my chameleon yesterday i was wandering how much to feed him hes like 2 inches long and with tail like 3 an a half maybe 4 and are there any treats he will like now and then that are safe etc or greens/vegies?
I would feed him as many as he wants. Add in some crickets, roaches, silk worms. Variety is good. Mealworms are hard to digest so just a few. Avoid waxworms as they are very fatty and not a good food even though they love them. Curly wing flys and fruit flys are perhaps a bit small but the little ones spend hours catching them. It's been a long time since I had veileds and I wasn't educated in fruit and veg so hopefully someone will help with that.
Ok is there something i can buy/make to keep the foods in so they cant get out through my vents because at the momeant ive put locust next to him and hes had 5 today and didant seem to want anymore are crikets a must? As i would rather not use as theyre so quick also any other tips for a new keeper would be apriciated thanks
I would love to be shot of crickets, but they are a good feeder. Try fixing some mesh over the vents . Put crickets in the fridge for about 15 mins before feeding or better still try cup feeding, that way you know where they are and how many are being eaten.
