how many feeders should i be feeding my 11 month old female veiled chameleon she is about 10 inches long and i feed her 5 crickets a day or if iim out about 4 supers a day. im asking this because on some threads some people say they feed 20 and even sometimes 30 crikets a day and im like wtf???

5 large crickets may not be enough,... but you do not need to feed it 20. that is for growing juveniles. try throwing in around 10 -medium-large crickets, and see if they are gone by the end of the day.

I think she should eat a few more than 5 per day. Its is usually older chams that would be fine with eating every other day. --Is she carrying infertile eggs?

females of that species are sensitive to temp and feeding load to get ready for breading (or simply produce infertile eggs).

The amount fed depends on age, I feed my cham 25 crix a day right now.

You want to be careful with a female and not overfeed. They love to eat and too much food will lead to large clutches of eggs with is detrimental to their health.

If you are feeding large crickets I think 5 a day is too much. My female is a bit over a year and I feed her every other day - no more than 5 or 6 feeders, often less depending on the size of the feeder. She is very large and robust and doing well on that amount of food.

All my adults are fed every other day and usually get somewhere between 3-5 bugs per feeding.

I have a 14 moth old male and feed him about 3-5 insects every other day and he's doing great. If you feed large prey items then you need to feed less, especially with an adult.
