This depends on what type of chameleon, how old he/she is, and the feeders you choose.:)

Up until about 9-10 months you should feed them 10 medium crickets or equal that amount for other food items in a day. Use the rule of the food item must be small enough to fit the space between his/her eyes. As they mature, they will slow down to every other day. Supplementation (calcium with and without d3, vitamin, mineral) and gut loading is very important so make sure you research that thoroughly. Hope this helps

Sorry, the advise I was giving refers to panthers. Not sure about other species.

thanks! its all cool even if thats for panthers, its still very useful!

veileds are great

i really like veileds. As lon as they are digesting all of there food feed them all they want. Just don't leave a bunch of extra crickets in the cage. i think 10 a day for a adult sounds right..

how about for a baby/juvenile?

10 a day still works. Just make sure the size of the crickets is appropriate. As the cham grows, increase the size of the food items. As they get older, you will definitely see them slow down. One thing that can happen if you don't change up the type of insects is a hunger strike. Variety is the key to keeping that from happening. Changing up what you gutload your crickets/dubias or whatever your staple food is, will make it better for the cham as well and also prevent them from not feeding. About the size, what you feed a 3 month old will probably not even interest an adult. They see that little thing and dont even give it a second glance.
