Our girls can reach sexual maturity as young as 5-6 months old. Over feeding will further this along early, so we need to be careful not to over feed. This can be a bit tricky as we don’t want to stunt growth either. Starting at around 5 months old, you’ll want to slowly start reducing her diet so that by the time she’s reached 6-7 months, she’s getting 5-8 smaller sized feeders daily.

And to add by the time she is a year old (or sooner if she starts laying eggs earlier), you will want to have your girl down to about 3-5 appropriately sized bigs being fed every 2-3 days or 3 times week. But right now you will want to work on getting to the 5-8 feeders daily by the time she’s 6-7 months old like Missskittles said
Not only is the amount you feed a female veiled chameleon important, the temperatures play a part too. It’s recommended that the basking temperature be no more than 80F.
If the feeding and temperatures aren’t controlled for species like female veileds, it can lead to reproductive issues….and premature death if it’s not caught in time so the female can be spayed.

I was giving her between 12 and 14 feeders daily. By the way, how much can they weigh when they reach adulthood?Hi and welcome.

She is basking at around 84°F. Then it would be better to reduce the basking temperature. Does basking time also can affect the reproductive behavior? I leave the basking bulb on for around an hour from 7 am to 8 am and then from 12 pm to 1 pm.
