How often can I chill with my cham?

Hey everyone, is it alright if I take my little cham out like every other day and hold him/let him crawl around my room for 20-30 minutes? He's a 3 month old veiled and I just want him to get used to being handled so that he'll chill with me and won't run away or attack. He never gets his dark colors but sometimes he'll try to run away from me when I coax him onto my hand. I'm just wondering if this is too much to hold him because I don't want to make him hate me or anything. I've read on here that you're not really supposed to hold them more than like once a month and other people have said its fine. Let me know what you all think :D

i have 2 chams that i handle everyday. they come out and walk around and they know it when i get home. they will both come down a paw at the doors untill i open them.
they both come out for 20 min or so each and then go home

At what age (of the chams) did you start handling them?? do you free range them?

i have handled them since they were about 3-4m, i do not freerange them i just let them out when im at home. together if im in the room and sepperatly if im busy around the house.
on wed i let my panther out then i went upstairs for abou 15min and on my way down he was on his way up... using the banaster. its like 15ft just to the stairs from where he statred.
silly guy he is

ive always been in close contact with my chams, everyday my chams visit me (i say visit because as i replace food cups, clean or anything close to the free range they bum rush me to spend some time with them..i started free ranging them at 3 months old (with very close contact and supervision), always hand fed and watered them, so at an earliy age they associated me with good things..as long as you can see they arent totally frightened, or aggressive, ied say 30 mins a day is great for personality..

heres my spoiled brats..both a year old in the vid

(they were separated untill the female was over a year old):D

It really varies from Cham to Cham. If you can tell when he's trying to get away and it's time for him to go home then everyday is ok. He'll probably have a phase of 'teenage temper' in a few months when you ought to back off a bit, but don't take it personally. Remember to respect his wishes and give him space if he wants it and he'll be fine. Sounds to me like you have a relatively friendly young Veiled, congrats :)

Wow hahah thats really cool, do you just leave them at random places?? like your desk, bed, etc??? have you ever had problems finding them ??

i usually just open their cages ( witch are right behind my couch ) and they just crawl out on their own and wander. the panther acctually goes back to his cage on his own if left long enough and the veiled always heads for the front window and chills in the curtains.
one time the veiled scared me for a bit, ( he was clillan on the wires on the back of the TV, nad i think he liked the warmth ) but i found him in about 20 min
the veiled will also try to crawl on the dog but i keep her by my side while they are out, she friendly to them but about 130lbs and i cant have an accident.

My guy currently gets free roam to what he wants I just leave his cage open and a stick to the curtain he is getting more bold each day!
He'll come down off the curtain to visit his mommy (my daughter) he's also starting to come down and roam around on the floor and find new things to climb and play on, he'll go back to his cage when he wants a drink or food so I think all is good in his world and he is liking us more and more everyday so I think free roam really helps their confidence in being comfortable with their humans!

Haha that video is awesome man! Yeah I usually just let my little dude out and he crawls up my shirt/arm and then sits on my head. When I let him crawl around my desk he usually goes for my surround sound speaker wires and crawls up them and into some christmas lights that I have strung all around the room lol. Since all you guys have your chams out so much I'll keep handling him every other day. When he's out I also make sure to be really calm and move slow so that he understands I'm not a big scary animal about to eat him haha. :D

Oh yeah thats a good idea. He kind of gets freaked out when I poke him onto my hand. I can't really just leave the door open though cause he hasn't figured out the cup feeding yet lool.
