my 1 year old male veiled hasn't shed in about a month. he's not growing very much lately but it seems a little long. the humidity is around 50-60%, higher when misting(obviously, lol:p) how often should he shed?

I think veileds are pretty much full grown at one year, so he's not going to shed much after one year.

Reptiles will continue to shed their entire lives. Since shedding is mostly linked to growth, they may not shed as often as adults as they do when they are younger, but they will certainly not stop shedding. A healthy chameleon kept in good conditions will continue to shed regularly throughout its life. It's hard to say how often a cham should shed, because each individual sheds slightly differently - it seems to be influenced by seasonal conditions (more sheds in summer than in winter), humidity levels, and the animals own activity (chams sometimes shed after recovering from an illness, or after moving to a new location). Some keepers have reported that sometimes all of their chameleons shed at the same time, so their could be some sort of natural cycle involved, or external factors that influence shedding too.

All animals continue to shed their skins throughout their lives. Humans shed skin cells continuously, whereas reptiles do it in big patches (most lizards) or even one big skin shed (like snakes).
