How old is my chameleon? And supplement questions.

Hi,

I guess my chameleon is about 3 months old, but would like to make sure. I took the photos about 3 or 4 weeks ago.

About the supplements, as long as it has no Vitamin D3, I can use it every feeding or just follow the directions? Here are everything I have right now: MINER-ALL Outdoor from Sticky Tongue Farms, Repti Calcium without D3 from Zoo Med, and Repashy Calcium Plus and Calcium Plus LoD, and Zoo Med Reptivite. Thanks.

What do you have for lighting? That will determine your supplementation needs.

Personally, I use 12% t5ho lighting, calicuim withOUT D3 every feeding, and Reptivite with d3 2x monthly. But, if you are using lower quality lighting this schedule will leave tour cham deficient. Lighting is the most natural and safest way to provide D3.

It may be helpful to fill out to fill husbandry questionnaire and get feedback if you’re new to cham keeping. They are different from other reptiles and have specific requirements.

Husbandry template is here: https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/how-to-ask-for-help.66/

You have too many D3 supplements... Miner-all has calcium, D3, and vitamins. If you use this, get rid of the Rapashy Lo D.

I personally like to keep all three supplements separate rather than getting a 3- in- 1 type like Miner-all. Its just easier for me to keep track of how much of what my chameleon is getting.

You'll need to look at the contents of your supplements to make sure you are not over supplementing D3 which is dangerous.

Did a quick search using the handy dandy search bar for these forums and Miner-all OUTDOOR does NOT contain D3 and should be given to chameleons who are kept in outdoor enclosures... If you get Miner-all INDOOR, then you would not need another D3 supplement since the indoor formula contains D3 and can be given with ever feeding.

You would also need a Vitamin supplement when using Miner-all if I am reading the information correctly on their website.

I would say about 3 months. Do you know if it is male or female? That will make your husbandry requirements quite different. If you would like an overall look at your husbandry then as said fill out this form in detail.
