I agree with you James, my house is 60% even with the AC running all day long. I also had to add a large dehumidifier in my downstairs room to lower it more.I have 3 dehumidifiers running in my house at all times to keep it at 50%. I have like the TOSOT. That one becca linked is probably just as good too. I fill a 70 pint once a day at times.
Did you get the one that I gave you the link for?@JacksJill It just came in this afternoon and it works great!
You need a large capacity dehumidifier for the room.Another LA keeper here, and the high humidity is driving me crazy too! Causing the ambient in some of my gecko tanks to hover at 70% with a ceiling fan and ac running 24/7 trying to help the room dry out during the day.
Humidity in Denver is 72% right now. Strange, we're usually much lower.Exactly and the weird thing is last week I was in Cleveland visiting my parents and it was around 50% there, I heard its usually much higher. The whole country has had super weird weather this year.

No, don't say that, I can't stand cold. We got snow twice as often last winter as we normally do (I know because I keep track). It was a horrible winter, I can't take another one. (I grew up in San Diego, I'm a fair weather girl.)It's weird weather this year I hear this winter is going to be a cold one.
OK, because I was totally prepared to blame you personally for any bad weather until you sent that disclaimer. Phew!I don't make the weather I only report it.
I don't think they are predicting extra precipitation, like they actually have a clue.
The larger ones that do the job to pull the humidity do increase room temp. It was fine for me living on the coast in Cali since average temp outside was never more than 60-65 and we did not have central heat. If you have central heat close the vent in the room your using it in. Then your not pumping additional heat in the room. It should be pulling down the humidity in the room though. Looking for ambient temps in low 70's and then humidity can range for a veiled anywhere from 30-50% daytime.I have a very similar one that @Beman requested. My only issue with it is it makes it too hot in the room. I have a veiled as well and am worried about this since it's been so humid here recently. (Memphis TN area)
