Hi, we recently (Sept Expo) bought a one month old veiled, he is doing great eating a ton of crickets. Twice I have bought worms to introduce to him and twice I have had to toss them once they died!!
how do I get Leaf to eat out of our hands, he tries to hide the minute we open the enclosure, even at time screams at us when we hold him, but turns a beautiful green other times!! he definitely is a funny dude!!
any suggestions would be great, thx

Never heard of a one month old screaming, usually they should be pretty docile at that age. I'm no expert though.

I personally only fed my guy at 2-3 months when I first got him by hand feeding. My screen is too large, even adult dubia can escape so it was no choice. Eventually he had no choice to hand feed.

Basically, dust the feeders, hold the back legs and make them wiggle. Be patient. If hes not interested don't try to force it on him just offer again later. I just place a worm on the palm of my hand and he now will crawl on me to grab it. Hes going on 5-6 months now, so this may all change when the notorious veiled aggression kicks in. (or doesnt? I can dream :) )

just to clarify we got him at a month old now he is 3 months, and he doesn't scream very often just once in a while!! mostly he is bright green when holding (see picture)

I was thinking that at this point he would be eating from our hands or at least something other then just crickets!! maybe wrong :(

All chams are different, some being really friendly and some being really shy and frightened. It took a long time for my female vieled to hand feed, I'd had her for 6 months before she trusted me enough. Try tong feeding then move on to cup feeding and just take it slowly :)
