How to handle !?

Just one more thing... I didn't notice this in any of the posts, but don't be surprised if he hisses at you (especially as he gets older). My little one did this to my wife once and although she was initially a little upset, it was very cute . They each have their own personality! I usually have one hand out in front of Zaphod, and one behind to coax him slowly. I try not to scoop or grab so he doesn't get upset and not want to be handled. (This does not always work ;))

Yeah I won't be surpris at all! But today he is less scared of me I was feeding him crickets and superworms for a treat and he didn't run away and he hints alot now. His cage is huge so he had alot of hunting to do but I think he likes it ! I usely look at him eat 10 to make sure he eats and leave 10 more for the day and only find like 3 left! 2x3x7 cage he loves it tho! Thanks for the notice ! :D

Until very recently I thought I was never going to be able to handle my 10 month old male Nosy Be. As a baby he was so afraid of everything. Now he's a lot bigger and for a while he was very mean. I was bitten by him once, and from that point on he would lunge at my hand every time I went near him.

I gave up for a while, until one day I saw a small plastic bowl at the dollar store. I managed to get him to eat from the bowl while I was holding it. I had fun feeding him, and decided to try and coax him out to the front of his cage with a superworm. I then held my arm out giving him a walkway towards the bowl I was holding, and after a few minutes of hesitation, he finally climbed onto my arm and ate the worm! That was the first time I was able to hold him since he was a baby, and I was able to take him out like that every day afterwords.

If you do attempt this method, make sure his tail isn't wrapped around anything. Sometimes I have to drop the bowl with the feeder still in it to unwrap his tail to make sure I get him out. Like I said, a month ago I would have told you he was impossible to handle, it just takes months worth of trust building.
