How to raise my heat lamp?

Whats the best thing to use to prop my heat lamp off of the top of the cage? My panther chameleon will sometimes climb along the top of the cage, and I want to avoid him being burnt.

You could put a hook in the ceiling or use a plant hanger that is screwed into the wall or you could use an Exoterra Lamp Stand/Holder which is about $10 on Amazon or can be purchased at PetSmart or another pet shop. See pic

I used to have a couple different sized square shaped boxes that I made out of chicken wire. That way I can set the lamp on top and just use whatever one accordingly to the temps inside and outside the house since the cage temps fluctuate with those. Worked just fine.

I use a metal clothes hanger make one end a tight circle and run a screw through that to the ceiling and a hook on the other end. Forever adjustable light

"How to raise a heat lamp?" Give the lill heat lamp a nice dark cold environment to live in, make sure you feed it lots of electricity! That is it, next thing you know it will glow and grow! Not much, but the heat will let it expand a little bit! Best of luck!

Sorry, this nut just could not resist! Looks like the other more prudent people already answered your question so I decided to have a little fun!

What kind of enclosure are you using? also to raise my heat lamp a bit i used a aluminum stand that the edge of the heat lamp fit on it looks crappy but it works specially because i can't hang a heat lamp from the ceiling for many reasons, one of them being the ceiling being to high lol
