How to use Panacur ? Help please!?!

I am opening this thread because I need help with the amount of panacur I give my 7 month old nosybe cham I currently am buying panacur off line and I know its to strong for my cham, so I will have to dilute it. Please describe the amounts in CC's. The answers I am looking for are.....

How much to dilute the panacur?
With what do I dilute this with?
How many CC's should I give my cham a day?
and how often?

Did you have a fecal done on your chameleon? If not, how do you know that it needs to be treated for parasites? What parasite is it you are treating it for? How do you know that the panacur will kill the parasite your chameleon has (if it does have a parasite)?

Panacur comes in different concentrations...so nobody can tell you how much to dilute it with the information you have given.
The amount you give to the chameleon depends on the weight of the chameleon and the dilution of the panacur.

Thanks champman those sites are exactly what I was looking for. My cham has been diagnosted with nematoads and pinworms. I will list the concentration and weight of chameleon at 6 p.m. Thanks for everyones responses.

My cham weighs in at 64 grams. The concentration on the panacur I bought i %10.

his weight is .064kg, the concentration is 100mg/ml, and the suggested dosage for reptiles with pinworms(off of cham_man's site) is 100mg/kg. With the formula for the drug being weight*dosage/concentration, the suggested amount comes to .064ml or .064cc. I havent given him the medication yet, but plan to give it to him tomorrow.

Does this amount seem correct for him??

Howdy,

With that typical strength, you can also measure it at 1cc/kg of your chameleon's weight. So a 64g chameleon would get a 0.064cc dose. Panacur is one of the safer medications to use with chameleons and overdosing is almost impossible. Round it off to 0.1cc if you want and you still won't have anything to worry about for overdosing.

You seem so knowledgeable regarding Chameleons and wish I could use you but I live in Orange County and it's a pretty far drive up to Manhattan Beach in L.A.
Can you or others on the forum recommend an experienced Vet down in Orange County. I live in Rancho Santa Margarita so I'm south of Orange County. Better to ask now and keep the recommendation on file so I'm prepared to use the Vet if the ocassion arises!

As Dodolah posted, Dr. Greek is the only one that I'd recommend that is anywhere close to you. Sorry I don't have much else to offer . Oh, and if his move works out (4-5 months form now), he'll be in Yorba Linda again, still a 45 minute drive for me .
