Hey Guys!

New to the forum here. Just wanted to say hi, from Michigan.

I've wanted a chameleon since I was a kid. My girlfriend recently surprised me with a Veiled! Say hello to Picasso. I'm new to Chameleons, but I've done a lot of reading and hope I get this right so I can provide the little dude with a great life. My girlfriend purchased him form a dude off Craigslist. I realize this is probably not a preferred way to purchase a Cham. As this is my first Cham, I have a few questions.

My girlfriend was told that he was 6 months. Based on size, I'm guessing he may be closer to 4 months. I'm also assuming he is a male. Based on the structure of his head, his elaborate pattern, his little "buldge" , and it looks like he has the "spurs" on his hind legs. He is about a foot from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. What do you guys think?

I feed him gut loaded, calcium dusted crickets about 5 days a week. The other 2, I feed him dusted mealworms. (I'm working on breeding my own crickets) I work 8-5 so I can only mist about 2 times a day. I always use warm water for misting. I also keep the little dripper going while I'm at work. I rarely see him drink so I'm thinking he is a closet drinker. His poop and urate look good, so I assume he is healthy. What do you guys think?

I've updated his enclosure since the pic I've posted. If anyone is interested I can post a more updated pic. Just wanted to get your thoughts and suggestions. As I've said I'm new to this, so I'm very open to suggestions.

Anyway thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you, CHEERS!

He looks good, welcome to the forum btw. Cover your drip catcher with screen so he doesn't fall in and drown, I'm guessing that's what the water dish is at the botttom of your enclosure! Maybe add a few more horizontal branches for exploring. If you need help sexing you Cham post a pic of his back feet. Lookin good though congrats on your new Cham!

I don't know if it's just me but his casque looks a little crooked which is a sign of mbd, I'd get some answers about that on here from some more established members about his casque...

That's what I was worried about...I'll have to get some pics tomorrow. And i'll have to get something to put over the little drip bucket. Thanks for the reply!
