Humidity Issues

Hello Everyone!
Waiting for the UPS truck, my first Chameleon is on his way.
I've prepared the cage with live plants and covered 3 sides with polyetheline clear plastic.
The problem is that, I cant get the humidity up over 20% (i spray all the time)

It sounds like the humidity should be higher, with the sides covered and regular mistings. Where do you live? Have you measured he humidity level in the room outside of the cage? You're gauge may not be accurate... that happens a lot... What type are you using? Also, a humidifier might help. Good luck with your new chameleon and congratulations!

I had the same issue! Packed with live plants and three sides covered and still the humidity was really low even with 3-4 sprays a day! I went and got another digital hygrometer and placed it on the opposite side of the viv and it reada 90% when sprayed!

Just to add on...where is your gauge located? It should be somewhere in the middle of the cage because humidity will automatically be lower if it sits on top near the lights.

Thank you everyone for your advice. For the past three days things were really tough. My chameleon refused to eat at all he was really dark gray eyes closed all the time and not moving much.
I bought a warm mist humidifier placed it in the cage and covered the open side. Me and my family are thinking that we might lose the poor baby cham but I am doing everything I can to keep him alive.
I just went over to petco (Brooklyn NY) where I know a reptile expert and brought him to my house, and we were able to force feed the baby cham with 3 silkworms covered in reptaboost.
Will try to repeat the same thing tomorrow.
I will do everything that I can to keep this chameleon alive.

I'm pretty sure it's completely normal for a new chameleon not to eat for the first week while they're adapting to their new environment.
