Humidity jumping around

Do most of you try to keep your humidity stable throughout the day? I was just curious as mine will be 35 then once I mist it jumps to 75 or so then slowly crawls back down then mist again and so on. So i would say for the most part of the day it is below 50 but when I mist a few times a day it jumps up. Just wondering as I was going to go buy a humidifier for the room tomorrow if need be.
I have a ambilobe panther by the way as I know there are different humidity requirements.

I have the same prob... i bought a Reptifogger and it helps... the thing is when the temps are up the RF goes down.. like when your basking light goes off the RH goes up... I heard that was normal with the spike in the RF.. just don't let it go down and stay there for a long time...

Thanks for the info. I am going to get either a repti fogger or a humidifier. How often do you run the repti fogger? I can mod a humidifier but I like the fact that the repti fogger already has the tube to put in the cage.

I will add this im having to turn it down a bit and might even shorten the time it's on.. cause the RH is higher now it's winter... summer is hard to keep the RH up around here..

I got a sunbeam ultrasonic and so far my humidity has not dropped below 56%. Could also be because I misted earlier but typically it will fall pretty quickly. I just have it set up beside his cage kind of blowing in that direction. I is a cool breeze so I did not want to put it too close but seems to be doing the trick. I am going to leave it in for a while today and see what happens.

I am not piping it. Just have it sitting about 10 inches form the cage and blows that way. It is a cool air though so I turn it off at night so the temp does not drop as much. It has raised my humidity a little but not as much as I would like. I may have to out it closer. My humidity is staying around 40 or so between misting. Using a hand mister but seriously considering the rain dome.

if you think about it, like on the west coast you have the thermal layer in the morning and the sun burns it off, so in nature higher humidity in the morning decreasing as the sun shines then increasing overnight.
my point is, the humidity does not have to be the same, and a range throughout the day may be more natural.

Thanks for the info, I did realize that but sometimes until someone says it, it does not hit me....LOL One less thing to be so obsessed about :)

Let the RH fluctuate a bit. Elevated RH sustained for a long period of time can cause microbial growth. 35 - 40%% is really not all that low; especially if the heat is on in your house. I have my humidifier on the same timer as my lights so humidity drops overnight and allows the enclosure to dry out a bit.
