its nearly 10pm where i am right now.i turned lights off at 8pm and the humidity in my panthers viv is 27% is this ok? what if it gets lower??

this has never happened before.its always beween 30% & 40% at night.the temp in the viv is 21 degrees celcius

With healthy adult panthers and veileds, I personally have found that while humidity is helpful, as long as they are getting enough water, low humidity isn't really an issue.

Is he of a good size and healthy? One night of low humidity shouldn't cause any issues if he is healthy. Just make sure he gets enough water when/if it happens. If it keeps happening, you can try covering a few sides of the screen cage with some plastic or something to help get the humidity up.

Is the humidity higher during the day? I have 3 younger panthers and their night time humidity is 27%-32%, their daytime humidity is 48%-72%. No issues here and 2 of them did a complete clean healthy shed yesturday.:)

he is healthy.i have boarded up 3 of the sides already.this is the first time its happened.i will keep an eye on it.if it stays like this tho will he become ill?

Not if he gets enough water. If he already has some underlying issues and the humidity stays low and he doesn't get enough water he could very well become worse/start showing signs of an issue. I think it's best to keep the humidity at good levels for young panthers (and adult animals) but I don't think it's the end of the world if he has some days where the humidity gets a little low as long as he has access to water and is drinking enough (and is healthy of course.)

so are you saying i should leave his dripper on over night? or mist?
he drinks plenty during the day.and the humidity is 50%-70% daytime

i think i know whats happened.i last misted at 5pm and turned lights out at 8pm.i normally mist 1hr before lights out and tonight i didnt.im not sure if this is why.
anyway i just misted for 10 seconds at the bottom of the leaves nowhere near him as hes sleeping upside down on the top mesh lol.its now up to 52%.

if this happens again i will just give it a little spray down the bottom to boost it a little.i doubt the water would bother them that much.as im sure mother nature doesnt hold back on the rain when there in the wild.

Make sure the branches/leaves/etc are dry before lights out. If you do not allow the cage sufficient time to dry a bit before he sleeps, you could risk some respiratory/fungal infections.

Do not mist or keep his dripper on at night. He will only drink during the day.

so if hes drinking plenty during the day as he wont at night.the night time humidity no matter how low it gets, will not be a problem??
