Humidity

It is natural for humidity to rise when temperatures drop at night. That is how morning dew is formed. How high is the night humidity? Are you seeing mold form? An increased air flow was suggested and that may help. They sell dehumidifiers if it is really a big problem.

Sense you have montane species they love humidity in fact they thrive on it that is one reason why you keep them in a glass enclosure. I think as long as your not getting mold you should be alright. Just how high is it getting? You aren't misting at night are you?

My problem is that I'm keeping my pygmies on bioactiv, so mold doesn't form easily because of the clean-up crew.. I have difficulties controlling humidity too. But not spraying is not an option (to let the earth dry out for a while), because then my chams can't drink.

Isn't the problem with increased/forced airflow (with a fan) that your chams will have 'wind' which is also bad for them? I already replaced one door with a mesh frame to increase ventilation, but the problem is the humid earth I think, not a lack of airflow.

"Wind" per se isn't bad for a cham (hey, there's wind in the wild), but what you don't want it a gale blowing directly on them all the time. That can cause stress and dehydration. You can easily increase the air exchange out of a terrarium by setting a small fan so it blows across the top. This will pull more humid or overly warm air up and out.

I suggest you run the fan upside down so it draws the air up and out, not blow directly into the enclosure. That's what I would do. :)
