I have a 18x18x36 cage for the cham i saw at the store who is a month and a half old. i have a mister and i have the temps right for the guy but i dont want to get him till i solve my humidity problem): i mist 4 times a day for 2 minutes and it goes up to 80% but only stays there for about 15 minutes and its below 50 again. Any ideas? i'm stuck. is it ok for my humidity to be around 35 to 40 except when i mist and it goes up? or is it to low. and advice would be great because i am really looking forward to getting the little guy:)

It depends what kind of chameleon it is .Some chameleons require higher humidity levels such as jacksons and other species found in the mountains. I have a female jacksons, so i use a humidifier i rigged up with vinyl tubing. Live plants will also help keep humidity levels up as well . Here is a link to a video i made which i think will help you see what i mean about the rigged humidifier.

here is a link to a kid showing how to rig the humidifier up:

just make sure you read up on the species you are getting. I have read places about high levels of humidity causing upper respiratory but I might have read wrong. Hope this helps
