We do both.. We let them hunt the crickets but then we entice them to come out of the cage with a cup of worms.. like a treat.. that way the chams associate you with good stuff. Later they just see me and the cup and come right out.
What do they respond more too? I use cups and let some roam, that way he has a choice to hunt or not. I am still working on hand feeding. When I feed worms I typically put the silks or horns on a branch and in no time they are gone.
hunting is the best way to start and try to slowly introduce hand feeding.hand feeding is a good way to build up trust so i would definitley try do it a bit.takes patience with some chams though
