My chameleon had urate today that was orange. I mist very often too the point the crickets drown. I am suppose to get my promist mister in tomorrow (fingers crossed). How can I get him to drink? I mist and have a dripper!

consider feeding him insect with high water content such as hornworms and silkworms.

If you ordered a promist then when that does arrive set it on a good mist schedule and your cham will enjoy it. But for the time being spray his cage real good and you could also try giving him a nice warm shower. As long as there is more white then orange in the urate you should be fine.

I agree with dodolah. But I also have one more question. How long have you had your cham....because if you just got him it may take a while for him to acclimate to his new home. if you have had him for awhile and his water intake has suddenly dropped off, you may consider a vet visit or listing more of your husbandry conditions to help other keeper help you more.

Hope that helps...

PS. even when you get your misiting system. your cham will need time to adjust and acclimate to the new sounds and actions in your viv.

I've had him for about 2-3 weeks. He is almost 4 months so he is still in a small 18*18*24 size cage with one potho plant in it. We have two artifical plants running horizontal so he can bask at different temperatures. The water dripper lies above the plant so the excess water can drop into the plant. His urate has been mostly white, the latest one was orange (according to my bf, I didn't see it myself), the one prior was half orange half white with the white portion being the latter part of the urate. Any suggestions on misting when i get my new mister? Thanks for all your input!

I have a mister for sale if you'd like to PM me. Its the one in my signature if you follow the link.

How long was it between urates/poops? If its been a while between, they tend to turn orange.

His urates and feces usually come hand in hand. He goes to the bathroom about every other day. Thanks for the offer but I already have the promist ordered.
