Hey y’all! My female chameleon has been very active recently. She hasn’t laid in a while and goes to the bottom of the cage looks around then climbs back up. I have a laying bin nice and moist and just a practice tunnel like almost the same set up as last time just bigger. Now she opens her mouth.. a lot. Mostly when she basks. And even when I turn the lamp off she has her mouth open then shuts it when she released the lamps off. Now she dosnt do it all the time but when she does she crawls on my hand and I let her freeroam. She usually is a light green with orange and spots of blue. I give her liquid calcium once a week with calcium without D3 5 times a week. And calcium with D3 once a month and herbtivite also once a month last time she laid was around 10 months ago:eek: she acts normal I will post pics in a little bit. And if I need a vet I have one on hand. Oh and when she’s out she has her mouth shut. I love my little baby sooooo much please help!:(

Is it something with her temps cuz I can check I’ve also lowered her branch and I’m going to get her a bigger and better cage soon

Some times when they gape and "yawn" they are about to shed. If that's not it check your cage temps it's getting hotter out and that can affect your house and cage temps.

Ok she’s not opening her mouth anymore.. Now she is just hanging down at the bottom then climbing back up.. Is she gravid? Because I have a laying bin. Does she not like the soil? I don’t feel any jellybeans..

Make sure the soil is damp enough to cling together when squeezed. You can also try making a small starter hole to give her the idea.
