I am getting a veil in an hour help!!

crap i got the repti glo 5.0 tube will this be ok for awhile? it was $24.00:eek: for the bulb yikes.i really hate to go back to exchange it again:(

:) you'll be better off with reptiSun. I heard some bad things about reptiglo in chameleon cage.
I say exchange it again.

Bet you never thought these critters were this particular!! You are definately on the right track now. Keep it up, keep reading and learning. You'll never be done with learning. Good luck, she's a good looking one. David

I agree with the advice to switch to the repti-sun 5.0
It really is a superior product.
Sorry I mis-read what you purchased on your other thread or I would
have chimed in sooner.

ok so back to the store i go lol. i bought a bulb lamp holder for $30 (ouch) couldn't find one cheaper then i remebered i had one that i had a black light in(took out the bulb) so i am using it instead and taking the other one back that should ease the cost of getting the new light. she really seems to want to eat a lot should i just keep putting them in there when they are gone or should i only feed her 2 times a day? i put about 5-6 crickets in each time should i do more than that? yesterday i fed her about 3 times and she seemed really hungry ate them all so????

You can easily double that amount of crickets(depending on the size of crickets you are using). Glad everything is working out for you!

They are the small ones. ok so it will be ok to feed her about 20 a day? maybe more? and should i put them all in at onece like in the morning or should i split them up like 2 times a day?

Question on the Plastic Cup in the cage. I do see a cup and my guess is this is what catches the dripper at the bottom? You also said she likes to climb the sides and lid and has had a few spills here and there. The cup looks a little too deep. A lid from a plastic storage box is good. Something shallow but long or square is good. But a deep cup can be a drowning hazzard. If she might fall into that cup she may drown. Slick surfaces are not chameleon friendly.

Other then that your setup is looking very nice. Soon as you get your ReptiSun 5.0 she will be stoaked.

It seems to me that this is a female. You would definatly know if it was a male from the spurs- they are not difficult to spot.

Because it is a female, in my opinion you need to start your research NOW on what happens when she is ready to lay eggs. Even if she has not been bred, she will lay an infertle clutch.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do as much homework as you can now, instead of waiting for the last minute and posting that your cham wont eat and is walking around on the bottom of the cage. I understand that you thought you were getting a male, and im sorry that the idiot at petco told you otherwise, but a female chameleon is just about the most difficult pet to own in my opinion.

There are about 5 zillion threads about it on this forum, almost 100% of them are the exact same response and story as the next.

Best of luck with your new friend, be careful, they are addictive!
