However, boards are living things. They are fluid. Their being changes. That is to be celebrated not mourned.

Yes, people are gone that we wish were still here (more for you, I'm a relative newbie by your standards), but people are here that are wonderful and amazing (and annoying as hell). We should never wallow in the past.

It isn't so much I wallow in the past, the people here now are are fun, helpful, learning, and just awesome, well except for a few. But now I have people thinking I know a lot, instead of having so many other who were worlds ahead of me. Thankfully a lot of those people are still here. Brad Ramsey & his partner adopted 2 boys and they were given all his time as it should be. He is happy and doing well.

It's time to buck up and accept the fact that your are, in fact, MOM. You'll be hated for it, you'll be loved for it, you will, above all else, think it's the best thing ever when all is said and done.

I guess having my daughter and 29 foster kids, should qualify me to be mom. I had foster kids for years so my daughter did not grow up alone.

No really, in all seriousness, I know how you feel believe me. That is one thing that really sucks about online communities- they grow rapidly and change rapidly. I still may have chopped liver status here but there are some forums I have been on a while. One forum in particular I have seen members come and go. Some participate very actively for a while and then slowly move on to other things or other forums. Such is life I suppose... Nothing ever seems to stay the same, everything changes.

Where have all the long term members gone? We have a lot of great new members, but all the people who joined with me and went through all the growing pains, became trusted friends, seem to have deserted me.. How do we find all the missing members? I hate all the people leaving.

I do understand. My first experiences on the internet were 15 years ago (when I used to leave the room to let the page load) and I feel blessed to still know some people from that time, but I really miss others who endured the ancient interface with me.

But that's life. Are you still friends with all your high school friends? Nope. But you're probably still friends with a few of them. Those that matter will linger. The same applies here.
