I got the itch

Well i just got my first cham the other day and boy is he great... I got a Blue Bar Ambilobe... I told wifey this was the last reptile i wanted so she was cool with that... I also have a ( French Bulldog/Blue & Gold Macaw/Salt water fish & my cham.... I also ordered Silkworm eggs and a roach colony. I have had other reptiles in the past 1 green & 1 blue tree monitor i miss those guys anyway I have the itch to get 1 more cham wifey is not gonna like the idea tho... I already put the cham cage in the room with us... Do any of you guys get the itch to buy again? There are so many nice chams out there it is hard to stop... Im gonna try to hold back unless that good deal comes around that i will be hunting for

Congratulations on your newest addition! Is that him in your avatar? Beware. We have a male veiled who had been with us for about 3 years when we got the itch. To make a long story short, we now have 22, plus 6 clutches of eggs (veiled, sambava, ambanja, and morph cross), and a female veiled laying some more today. Our original male veiled is still our favorite, and lives in our home office with us.

Yea I started out with one veiled I have ended up with over 50 chams in my basement. Eveytime I get a new chameleon its my last one. Well at least untill the new shipment of F1's arrive.

I house 50 chameleons cramed in a large basement. That also is offspring. I have 14 babies, the rest are for breeding? Its going to be hard to send alot so what do you want to see, Dwaft jax, jax x, Red factor wer., tempeli, nosy mitso, my amb males, veiled males, Deigos I got some other things down thieir I cant think of at the moment

Mostly i wanted to see how you managed to keep fifty. i have a good size room 25x15 to keep my chams in the futre and if i know me my number will grow evey reptile convention i attend (3-4 different shows monthly in less than 2 hour drive from my house)

Oh that is easy, room. I have a lowland side, and a montain side. I have a very large house my 2 rooms in my basement for chams are 35x20 and 30x20.
The montain side has a open bathroom in it. So I have an R/O hooked up to it. I also house around 100 frogs in another room in my basement. I dont have any pics of it right now. But I will take some tomorrow when my lights are on

how far aprt are the two sides... can they see each other??

No it is two different rooms. Has a door in the middle. I have the cages split with pvc board. I have good air flow, and air ionic breezes in both rooms. I use higher wattage bulbs in the veiled and panter side. Lower bulbs in the montain sides. Keeps the room at near perfect temps. This is the case with both rooms. The males are on one side the females are on another. I have a long cloth that runs to divide the rooms so the males can not see the females as well.

sounds like a crazy set up, and its true you cant just have one, in the last year i got my first veiled and fell in love with chams, since than i got a red bar ambilobe, and a female ambilobe, my girlgriend gave me a hard time but in time she fell in love as well, i have my eye on a male veiled but im running out of room, id love to see some pics of your set up in your basement if you can post some, im gonna build a wicked enclosure for them all when i get my new house!!!
