I got to meet "Luckykarma" today

My husband and I are on the west coast for vacation and we had a very nice visit with Gary and his wife Nui today. What wonderful chams they have! The friendliest panthers I have ever seen. They were gorgeous and so healthy and happy. To watch them free-range in their home and garden was fascinating. They took us to a lovely little Japanese Restaurant in their neighborhood for lunch and Gary and my husband really hit it off with their shared interest in the restoration of British MG's. Here's a few photos we took while we were there.

Thanks Gary!

Great first photo...all the people are smiling and all the chams are giving each other the stink eye. :D

Nah. Except for the shy new little guy these chams all hang out together. They all have their own trees and rooms but will walk over to the one room and hang out with each other on the same tree.

They are from left to right in the solo pics. Zzodhi, PB, Lucky Boy and Natto Zeedle Zappa.

PB makes the morning rounds. First he goes to visit Zzodhi in his tree. Then he goes to visit Lucky in his tree. Then Zzodhi decides to visit Lucky. Sometimes I close Lucky's door to give him a break. That day I couldn't find Zzodhi and PB. Then I went into my studio and they were both on things on either side of Natto's cage (only non-free range due to size) watching him.

No one even shows a hint of flaring.

WOW that's too cool. Did you do anything to help them be like this towards each other? Or did you just get really really lucky?

Great pics BTW!

Hey Steve! Love the orange. He looks a little closer to Lucky #3. Here's another shot of Natto. I'll show Lucky the shot and see if he recognizes him. Hopefully there's no bad blood. :p

Yes Jann, those are some good people there! How nice that you all got to spend time together. Are you still in California or are you back home?

Excellent pictures! Thanks so much for sharing with us.

I'm in San Diego now but we are planning to attend the meeting tomorrow at Dr. Greek's. Will you be there?

Nooooooo! I've already pm'd Dave Weldon to let him know. I usually take pictures so I'm hoping someone else will bring a camera since I won't be there.

I take in wild baby birds that have fallen out of their nests and try to nurse them back to health, get them to eat the food they require on their own and then release them when they are able to take care of themselves and hope for the best. It's about a 50/50 chance with these wild creatures.

Anyway, I've got a very young chick that I'm caring for at the moment which seems to be doing okay so far, the problem is that it requires feeding every half hour to hour. The food must be prepared fresh each time and warmed up to a certain temperature. Needless to say, I'm pretty much stuck here for a couple more weeks (if the little one makes it).

I can't tell you how sorry that I won't be able to meet you in person. I'm jealous that Gary got to. :D

That is awesome that you get to go see Dr. Greek's office and meet everyone. The timing is so bad with this little bird, but my responsibility is to the young one at this moment. If I attended the meeting and the little baby went downhill, whether or not it was my fault, I'd be blaming myself.

You're going to have a great time, SBCK members are the best!
