I killed another one. What am I doing wrong?

Another tip that your plants are sitting too soggy too long, is a funky smell around the cage. When you see a plant drooping and dropping its leaves and you KNOW it isn't dried out, pull the plant out of the pot and check the soil around the roots.

FWIW, I've never used different lighting for my plants. Just the basic basking incandescent and ReptiSun 5.0s. I also added an "old" ReptiSun in a single fixture hanging vertically down one side of the cage frame to increase the general light level in the lower areas of the cage. Plants did fine.

Interesting - mine tend do drop leaves, so good to know. And vertical light is a good idea!

Awesome, thanks!

Try the 6500's and maybe add a fan in there.... When the chams aren't out playing run a floor pedestal fan. Most plants benefit well from air movement, and if your a heavy waterer (like me:p) your plants will thank you for it. I run a fan on a timer with my lights for my orchids, they run from around 8am to about 6:30 pm right now.

If I water late in the day, I'll bypass the timer by turning the switch on the timer to 'on' and just manually click the lights off... Just gotta remember to turn the lights on the next day :)

Come spring all my Pothos plants will go into hydroton as a 'potting material' for better drainage... We shall see how that goes :)
