Why go to San Francisco to eat at a MegaCorp TGI McFunsters franchise when there are so many real restaurants that don't have a "District Manager"?
Chad, you suck for going to San Fran!
If you want some in-freaking-credible Dim Sum, check out Dol Ho on 808 Pacific Ave in Chinatown. It's definitely a HOle in the wall place and you'll probably be the only white folk in the joint, but they were all (wait staff and Chinatown residents) incredibly friendly to us. It was, by far, the best dim sum we've ever eaten. We actually ate the steamed pork bun just out of guilt because the nice Chinese grandmotherly lady made them just for us and was
disappointed when we said we were already full. It was the only plate of them we saw during our visit and she brought them straight over to us. She looked so sad that we took them anyway and she was just thrilled. Normally, I can take or leave them, but these were just like everything else, the best ones ever.
I double checked to be sure there wasn't an error on the bill, but our total was a whopping $12 for two people...and we were stuffed silly. I gave them $25 and they were shocked. It was far, far less than what the meal was actually worth to us.
