I may quit the forums

Clea: I have had my fair share of Jerks on this forum.. Heck, half of what this thread says I cant read because my ignore list has gotten so long. I have just sat back and decided when to pick my battles. I always do a search before posting a question and I only respond if I feel I can help someone or make their day better by adding a smile to their face. You are young. We all were your age at some point and people tend to forget. There was a time when we all had our first chameleon and thought we knew perfectly how to care for it as the knowledge wasnt as prevalent and we didnt have forums as these. You are given bad info by unknowledgeable pet store people and your dad doesnt have the love that you have for your pet. Both Jann and Laurie offered to send you a light. Done. The rest is on you to read up and make the best of a bad situation. learn from what you have done wrong and correct it before its too late. Know that YOU are doing the best YOU can for that chameleon and do not come on here expecting some people to understand. They have had time and money to fix and learn fromt heir mistakes. People tend to forget what its like to be misinformed apparently. Work on your self confident. Do a search before you post a million threads (Not saying you do as I dont recall any, just a tip), and enjoy your chameleon. They are hard creatures. I have lost 2 and I will not get another large one for a very very long time as I went through what you are going through. I had adults being VERY immature about my situation when I came on for support and guidance and it caused me a lot of stress and confusion. You are a kid and you have plenty of time ahead of you. Next time you will be much more informed and research before you buy. PLease do not say you are a failure in life. Your life has barely begun and these people do not know you. They should not have any influence on you other than an informational aspect. They are just typing words. You can put them on ignore, you can turn off your computer. Im sure you are a good kid so dont let them get into your head. Some people come on here to get a power trip and to put people down for things that they once didnt know themselves. I wish you the best of luck and hope that you find peace in knowing you tried and no one else can say you didnt. :) Take Care, Amanda

So to keep them from producing eggs you need to keep them cooler.

There, wasn't that easier. :p

A lower temp for all chams may also extend their live. I keep my males basking spot between 87 and 89. Also the more clutches the female has is wear on her body and shortens her life.

I sure wish that we could get together to talk chameleon. I could help you out, but I guess it's not going to happen. Any questions you have you can ask.
