I Need Help Please

I had my chameleon for 4 months, And I've been noticing her odd colors. I know when she is stress, but I am unsure this time. She has a dark shade on her forhead that hasn't gone away. I think it has been about three weeks now. The rest of her body is green but sometimes there will be brown, yellow, and black normally where her white strips will be. her temperatures are 75- 80. her humidity is not the best. I mist 4 times a day. I feed her crickets carrots, sometimes with apples, and oranges. I supplement her with vitamin D3 after every two days. once a week I turn on the shower and let her sit with me for 30 mins. And also she hasn't been drinking She has been eating.

Chameleon Info:

• Your Chameleon - Veiled Chameleon, Female, Had her for 4months. I think she was at least 2 or 3 months when I got her.
• Handling - She is not very friendly so I try not to handle her often. Say once every week, Sometimes less depending on her mood. I clean her cage every two weeks
• Feeding - Crickets, horn worms, and super worms. Horn worms I feed her every once to twice a month. Crickets I feed her 8, I'll feed her 5 if I give her a super worm with it. She likes to eat in the morning. Apples no skin, carrots and Oranges.
• Supplements - I only have vitim D3 I dust after every two days.
• Watering - She has a dripper, I mist 4 times a day. When I first mist its for two minutes for the rest of the day less than a minute. I use warm water.
• Fecal Description - Her brown poop is more solid than the white. Sometimes her brown poop a little runny. her white poop comes out a little yellow and stringy like
• History- Her tongue is white.

Cage Info:

• Cage Type - Screen 18 by 20
• Lighting - All Living thing, for day time use the neobymium basking bulb and night I use infrared spot bulb, I'm also using a UVB light but unsure of the brand. I put in her basking bulb around 10 and take it out around 6 when it gets dark out, she doesn't sleep until around 8
• Temperature - day70-80 overnight 60. I use a thermometer
• Humidity - I don't have something to measure humidity. I mist her cage and let warm showers run for 30mins every once a week.
• Plants - Yes Hicubus
• Placement - in front of my window in my room, Its face my back yard so there is not a lot of traffic. not near a fan or air vent. 5 feet, 5'5
• Location- California

Her colors could mean anything, it's hard to say without seeing them. She doesn't need a red night bulb, it will stress her. There needs to be a temp drop at night, but if it gets below 50 you can use a ceramic bulb. She needs different supplements, calcium without d3 everyday is very important and a mutivitamin twice a month. The calcium with D3 that you have is only twice a month because d3 can cause problems if given too often and she is getting it from her uvb bulbs. Some pictures of your girl and her cage would also be a big help!

Her night buld is not red its dark purple so she can sleep. And it does get very cold at night especially during the winter. I will send some pictures in the morning. Thank you.

It doesn't matter that the bulb is dark purple. No lights at night whatsoever. It's ok if it gets kinda cold at night. Like you were told above, unless it's below 50 degrees you don't need anything at night and if it's colder than that use a ceramic heat emitter.

I agree with everyone, no lighting at night, I actually just found this out myself not long ago that any lighting can disrupt sleeping even if purple red ect. If your cage is where light hits when it's time for your Cham to sleep, let your lights cool but I just throw a dark blanket or towel over the cage to eliminate any light penetration. Many reptiles can deal with Night lights chams are not one of them. If I can find the thread about lighting and the effects @ night I'll post it on here for you, good article. Send some pics of your setup and Cham and it will better help everyone identify the problem! It may not even be lighting !!!!

I never seen her upset over the lighting at night I make sure it's not above her but away from her. But ill take your word for it

It's not immediate effects of light it's long term effect. You won't notice that your Cham is affected instantly it's over a period of time.

There's multiple threads on here about no lights at night if you want to see for yourself. Also get rid of the substrate it can cause an impaction if accidentally ingested

It looks like the substrate is inside a box, maybe its a laying box?

She looks to be healthy to me. I can't tell if you have substrate or live plants, but cover the dirt in any live plants so she doesn't ingest it. If it's just substrate, definitely lose it in favor of repticarpet or paper towels. You seem to be off to a great start with her, and there's always help here if you have any concerns.

He said hes had her for 4 months, and she was 2 - 3 months old when he got her, 3 + 4 = 7, a 7 month old chameleon in a 18x18x20 cage? Nahhhh.

Well, I meant to seem encouraging! I've seen much much worse... If our kind suggestions are ignored or rebuked then I'll certainly be harsher.

I feel your pain on that front. Unfortunately on many of the veiled and panther help threads that's what you're going to find

I agree to an extent. I try to differentiate between not knowing but being willing to learn and being willfully ignorant. Asking questions is a great thing, even if the information is already out there somewhere.
