Hi
I'm New to the site and I wanted to see if I can get the proper advice I need for my veiled chameleons.
I wanted to know what are the proper wattage of bulbs for heat and UVB??
Also is it safe to have 4 chameleons in one enclosure ?
(3 females and 1 male)
Hope I can really get some answers to these questions
Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

I use a 50w basking bulb for heat and a 15w 18" 5.0 UVB Zoo Med ReptiSun Fluorescent Lamp for UVB for both my panthers and carpets, these should work just as well for a veiled.

No, never. Need to keep them in separate cages and have visual barriers between the cages.

Please check out the general chameleon care as well as the veiled care sheet before you move forward and purchase any.

Welcome to the Chameleon Forums. This is a great place to learn about chameleons. I keep veileds and they are awesome chams. Three veileds = three separate enclosures. Most chameleon species have to be kept separately and you even need a towel or large piece of cardboard or wood or something between each enclosure so they can not see each other. Chameleons can and veileds will become stressed if they see each other and stress leads to other health issues, even death. I'm attaching my blog for new keepers below. It has a section on the lights you will need. It also tells you all the other items and supplies that you need with links to pictures and where you can buy each item. Most chameleon supplies can not be purchased at a local reptile store. The very best of luck to you and your guys. Post some photos when you get a chance. Also there's some really great info in the links provided above.
