I sometimes search kijiji for local supplies and other random chameleon related things.
Of course theres always the Chams for rehomong mixed in..
This is what I came across today.
Gravid.. eyes closed during the day..

They are.looking for $375 for the Cham and her "aquarium". 😔😔😔😔

I've sent a message.
I have an empty screen enclosure and t5ho light fixture sitting in the closet. If they drop the price to practically free or at least reasonable. I can take her in.

The cham is on the downside of life. It's eyes aren't open. Why the hell are the running water over it. This pisses me off.
The add says she is a sweet 1 yr old.
She likes to.cuddle and enjoys warm baths.
It also says that the cham was left with them by a son who moved away and that they dont have time for her.
She comes with her aquarium.
I would bet good money that she doesn't have good lighting.
And probably doesnt get proper regular supplements.
My hear breaks thinking about it.
I havent gotten a response from the person who posted.

Well.. here's the reply.
I guess I can just hope that someone with knowledge and lots of play money buys her soon.. 🥺
In other words she's full of s*#t. Doesn't understand or know about Chameleon behavior. Treating this poor thing like it's right out of Rapunzel. You can't tell that its evening in the pictures and if the thing is sleeping then why the hell is she bothering it? I know I'm preaching to the choir here but her response is just a nice way of saying F you and mind your business. Ok. Rant done. Sorry.

I agree with you completely
And its only one eye that closed. Not both.
I responded by mentioning her need for a laybin again.
I did my best.

Just............☹️ people........prime example of anthropomorphizing and projecting to the animal’s detriment.

People suck...
I tried to stuff as much basic care info into my message back.
Its all I could do. I dont have $375 to buy a sick Cham. No matter how much I want to help.
I asked if I could just buy the Chameleon.
That request was ignored.

The person messaged back.
I think the overload in info might have got her to at least google some.
She is now worried that her care has done harm and is willing to sell just the Chameleon.
What should I offer?
Around here a veiled in a petstore goes for about $200.
I paid $100 for my female from a breeder.
I dont think I would pay more than that.

I think no higher than 100. Especially for veiled (that is sick)

Start with seeing how much she expects and go down from there.
