As you may know. I ordered 1/4 inch crickets and got them today and idk, they just look tiny! I think my cham is eating 1/2 inchers. idk why i ordered smaller... what was i thinking. anyways. is it still ok to give him these crickets even though they are small? just give him more?

Can't go wrong with a smaller feeder. They'll just have to eat a lil more of them. I prefer this over feeding something too large.

They will eat small feeders but you will save money in the long run with a "large as appropriate" feeder. This is why roaches can be more economical than crickets even though they cost more initially. Two nice sized roaches can equal 6 or 8 adult crickets. Sometimes the smaller crickets trigger a more aggressive feeding response in some of my chameleons too.

hopefully im not hijacking this thread, but, can you elaborate on the smaller feeder equals more aggressive response part? (good or bad, details of the behavior)

For example, I have my baby cage next to one of my adult panther girl cages and she goes nuts looking through her screen to theirs at very small feeders. 1/8 inch crickets and even fruit flies get her attention even though she'd probably eat 50 of them. The small crickets do seem to move faster or differently than the adult crickets or maybe it's just seeing something thats different, even in size only, that gets them going. Could look like an easier meal maybe, I'm starting to think like a chameleon, this is scary:eek:
