I think my Veiled Chameleon is dying I NEED HELP!

@Walstrom305 Your chameleon looks like his eye is bothering him. He's pulling it into his head and squinting. It is possible he has something in the eye turret (the fused eyelids).

Chameleons need misting not only to drink but to clean their eyes. You aren't misting nearly enough. Based on your description of his stool, I suspect he is quite dehydrated.

Take his plant (or even his whole cage) and put it into a shower. Run the shower at about body temperature and aim it at the wall NOT the chameleon or the where he is sitting. You want a fine foggy mist to gently fall around him. Run the shower for 20 minutes and see if that doesn't help.

I honestly don't think you can keep a chameleon healthy without an automatic misting system.

I'm also a bit concerned that there are so many parameters around what your family will accept and will not accept with regard to basic husbandry. You might want to rethink keeping a chameleon if you are not able to meet his needs. Chameleons are not as flexible as other pets and you really need to give them what they need rather than what is convenient.

Just throwing my observations out there after skimming this thread... His arms look really thin which could indicate malnutrition. I saw you are only feeding 5 medium crickets when he should be eating as much as he can in 2-3 minutes. At his age, my chameleon was eating between 10-15 crickets.

Supplementation and gutloading feeders as other members posted is just as important.

Hydration needs to be adjusted. If you can only hand mist for now, make sure you are misting atleast 3 times per day for a duration of 3-5 minutes. I also have one long mist session in the morning for 10 minutes to ensure my cham has enough time to clean his eyes, loosen up any shedding skin, and be stimulated to drink if he needs it.

I recommend reading through these articles if you havent already. https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/

There is a ton of great information to help you learn and understand more about chameleons and there care.
