Current Problem - I got this wild caught panther female a little less then a month ago and now her left eye is closed most of the time and she pulls it in like it hurts. I run the automatic mister for 30 seconds 4 times a day and a dripper half of the day. I run her water though a brita filter and then add retisafe water conditioner.... What could be causing her to close her eye? I heavly misted her once today to see if I could flush the eye but she still wont open it unless I am handleing her... Help Please... every time I go to my local vet about my other panthers eye problems it dosnt really help any she just gives me antibiotic drops... I have a feeling its something I am doing wrong and I feel very axious This happened with my ambilobe male and he is almost competely bind now can some one help???

first, sorry your girls having problems.
second, please only create one thread, so people can keep track.

was she ever tested for worms? if shes wild caught, and never treated this could cause an issue.
also, iv e heard that the ficus sap can sometimes cause an eye issue. so you may want to remove that.

and i think a vet visit may be in order. and antibiotic eye drops will probably help.

since shes wc i would bring her to the vet just to be safe, you dont know what she could have. try elevating your repti sun maybe that would work, if not i wouldnt know why, your lights are fine.

Thanks Yall... Sorry I posted twice no one was replying to my other one and I am so nervous I just want answers becasue I dont want her eye to get damaged like a males did... thanks for the reasurence on the lights i was concerned about that... and I was thinking about changing her plant to an umbrella tree... and I think I will get a fecal down and see if she will just go ahead and give me those drops again hopefully it will help Ill keep you guys posted over the week if you want (=
