I want live plants!

I have a 3 month veiled and I currently have her cage stocked full with fake plants. They're really easy but I hate to spray them down and watch her lick water off of the plastic. I would've planted some real plants a while ago but I'm not sure which kind of plant to use and it also seems like a lot of work when cleaning her cage and changing her dirt. I'm looking for the easiest way to do this because I feel bad about giving her a plastic environment

I used a couple of golden pothos that I got from a local store. (Not too expensive and do very well in many enclosures.) I simply replaced the soil they were in with a mix of sand and organic potting mix (no chemical fertilizers) and rinsed off the plants to remove any residue that may have been on the leaves. I use the sand so the soil doesn't hold as much moisture after repeated mistings. Pothos are considered to be cham safe (many veiled chams will take some bites out of the leaves) and really look nice. The leaf shape holds water well for drinking as well. I would suggest a layer of sand on top of the soil to minimize the gnat issues, and then some larger stones so your little one doesn't eat the soil or rocks. A 6500k light will provide what the plant needs to thrive.

Hope that gives you some ideas!

I have a huge schefflera plant in my enclosure (along with tons of branches going vertically and horizontally). Just re-pot it in another pot with organic soil like the previous poster said.

This is a schefflera
