Hey guys! im receiving a xl reptibreeze friday and really just want to set it up once and never touch it again! My animal has been lacking a stable environment and its due to me trying to set it up for his picky appetite. Can anyone just post a pic of their 2x2x4 setups and just list what they did? thanks! also taking ideas for drainage too!
I appreciate it guys my cham is getting back on track eating more and more so hopefully with the last cage he will be set to go.

Build one of these for your cage.

Its dowel rods and butcher string then wrap your vines around it and put a plant in the middle. I will get a picture of my cages tomorrow as everyone is already asleep.

If you want to be able to clean it without taking things out, definitely find some hanging plants. Actually here are some tips.
  • hanging plants from the top
  • using push pins to secure branches from the side of the scren
  • drill small holes in the PVC bottom of the cage
  • put a bucket or a plastic bin under the cage
  • usually plastic drawers from target or walmart are good for this
  • **if you are using plastic drawers** drainage is in the first drawer (drill holes in the top of the drawers so that water may drip into the first drawer)
  • other drawers can be used for a neat way to store feeders and supplements
  • make a mount for the lights to hang on top so when you move the cage you won't have to take the lights down, only unplug them

The cage set up possibilities are endless !!! You should check out some of the pictures on the enclosure threads. I have found that for me it was important to give my Chams the proper environment and also build it in such a way as to make it low maintenance. I have seen and built some cages that were fantastic for the chams but not practical to keep up. I now put vines and sticks/bamboo etc in the top basking area but keep 6-8 inches free of anything else so that my chams can get all the uv and basking they want without anything blocking it. I build lots of level's around the sides with artificial plants and sticks for them to climb on giving lots of temperature ranges. I use a hanging plant and two potted plants (live) making it very easy to remove the plants and clean. They climb all over the plants as well. I also am able to take the plants and hose them off to clean them. I don't put lots (any) vines or sticks between the plants and the door so it is easy to remove them. These are just a few thoughts I have after lots of mistakes I made setting up cages. Many people on this forum can send you pictures or have already posted them and I have learned a lot by others here. You can see my most recent builds if you look at my posts. I and I'm sure others would be happy to text you so as not to bore everyone else with pictures we have already posted. Good luck with your cages :)
