Hi all, I recently purchased a panther cham and was told it's a Nosy Faly local. I am unfamiliar with all of the locals and just wanted to make sure this was correct. Thanks!

Personally i dont think its a faly. I would think Ambilobe, but its almost impossible to know for sure. Falys have a really special distinct look.

I have an an ambanja that looks almost identical.

Out of curiosity, what features can tell a nosy faly apart from an ambanja?

Nosy falys generally have a lot more white and also the red speckles that cover the body (called redrain by some, I think). Ambanja and nosy faly can sometimes look very similar. Especially if there is more green or blue in a faly rather than white. But to a beginner it might be a bit difficult to distinguish with experience and seeing many chameleons you will eventually be able to tell the difference quite easily.
