If I Buy A baby female cham could i put it into the same cage as my male one my male is about 4-6 months old will it be okay? i want my male to have a friend =)

Absolutely not. That baby will not get any food, probably get bitten and I am guessing would end up dead. Chameleons are solitary creatures and except for a couple of species want to be alone to be happy.

then how comes there are soo many pictures of diffrent people with chams together in the same cages its a male and a female surely they wont fight eachother or hurt eachother...

Not to mention he might eat her!!!!! Sorry guys but had to post this picture! It does happen a bigger chameleon with a smaller one, not a good idea.

Research my friend do some research. No chams can be together the only time is during mating and soon as thats over you remove one. Everyone that has more then one cham has a screen cage for each cham. And they are divided with cardboard or something so they can't see each other. You will be wasting money and a chams life if you decide to put two chams together.

I prefer to put a modern spin on it; Male chams prefer to lead the ultimate bachelor life. He has a maid (you) to clean his place daily; fresh food is always at the ready; his pad is always a cozy temperature and if he's lucky a friend takes him over to some random girls house where he loves her and leaves her and is back in his own place by night fall :D

I agree! Male chams only need female chams for a one night stand and that's all. If she is there any longer he will pull the ole ike turner on her ;(

well, this is about the umpteenth time ive said this.

Brad- Make a sticky that says (something like this): MOST CHAMELEONS SHOULD NOT BE HOUSED TOGETHER ie: veiled chameleons or panther chameleons etc.

a more detailed list of who can and who cant would be a better idea, just that's just an example.

-thanks.

Awesome Idea! I would do it but I'm not sure about other chams

One more reason not to keep a male and female together while they are growing up...as soon as they are sexually mature, they will mate. IMHO its best to let the female grow up completely before you put her through laying fertile eggs.
