While I could talk all night about anecdotal information on communal chameleon keeping, in every case the keeper had years, if not decades, of experience. On the flip sides are hundreds, if not thousands, of problems caused by inexperience trying to compel two solitary animals to cohabitate socially. Cohabitation is the exception, not the rule.

Discretion ... always the better part of valor. Of course, one can learn the hard way

chameleons are not suppose to be housed together like in pet stores. Breeders keep them together til 3-4months of age from the same set of eggs or until one becomes bigger than the other and it taking more of the food.

It would probably help you a lot if you looked over the care sheets on this site. They have lots of really good information that will help you to keep your new chameleon healthy and happy. Don't trust what they may have told you at the pet store.
